The Roaring Prides
The Hokqan
Fierce and noble, the Hokqan stride the wilds with a hunter's grace, their spirits entwined with their gods, and their valor sung in the echoes of the forests they protect.
The greatest hero is not the one who conquers their foes, but the one who conquers their fears.
The Hokqan are feline-humanoids of formidable grace and power, muscular frames crowned with golden eyes and thick manes. Their origin is traced to legend: a hero-hunter of unmatched resolve who pursued his cursed bride across the seas, breaking her bane and claiming the islands of Azuhl as their new home. From that union, the Hokqan were born, as creatures of strength, instinct, and unyielding will, who rose swiftly to dominate their wild domain.
They are a people defined by both ferocity and reverence. To the Hokqan, courage is sacred, the hunt a divine ritual, and the wild a living testament to their gods, the Hunt Masters, great spirits embodying the island's most fearsome predators. Their stories resound with heroism and struggle, each tale a hymn to bravery and triumph. Life in a Hokqan pride is ruled by purpose: to hunt, defend, and build. Every member has a role, and at the heart of each pride stands a champion whose strength and cunning bind the others together.
Yet beneath their warrior ferocity lies a deep spirituality, an understanding that survival and sanctity are one and the same. To live, to hunt, to tell one's story in the roar of the storm and the silence of the forest, that is the Hokqan creed.
